DISCOVER THE LANDSCAPES OF THE HIGH ALPS

Beautiful sunshine and quality snow are the two assets of the Hautes-Alpes and thanks to them, you will be sure to find an ideal place to fall in summer and winter!

Between the Northern and Southern Alps, the Hautes-Alpes is characterized by a Mediterranean mountain climate. The inhabitants of the department “05” proudly display the color: 300 days of sunshine per year!
The azure blue sky enchants you whether you are a walker or a skier… And the snow never forgets its annual rendez-vous!
The ski resorts open an average of 123 days a year to offer you a real moment of winter relaxation. No wonder, because in this department the mountains are very high, hence the name “Hautes-Alpes”…
A third of the territory is situated at an altitude of over 2000 m, with landscapes ranging from 500 to 4102 m, from the Buëch country in the west to the summit of the Ecrins country in the east. And Gap is thus the highest prefecture in France (625 m), Saint-Véran the highest commune (2040 m), and the Agnel pass the highest road crossing (2744 m).

The department includes many waterways: The Durance, The Drac, The Buëch, The Clarée, The Guil, The Guisane, The Séveraisse, The Haute Romanche, and also the vast lake of Serre-Ponçon… Thus, all water sports enthusiasts will find something to satisfy their desire.

An area where all the colors vary from one season to another, to be discovered absolutely. You will be seduced by the charm of the mountain villages, the friendliness of the inhabitants and the good cuisine of the Alps!
And finally, you must come to breathe the pure air, go up the limpid rivers, travel through the valleys, the flats and even the steep lands to the extreme. In short, come and recharge your batteries by sharing a unique moment with us!
